Topic: Need some help with Dynamic DNS service
Hi,I am a bit new to all this so please forgive my ignorance. I just signed up with you, my domain is stinkinhippie.com I am looking to have it pointed to a box on my home network that I am running some video services on.I set up three subdomains on your system. plex.stinkinhippie.com, tv.stinkinhippie.com and movie.stinkinhippie.comI would like to point each of the subdomains to a different port, so where stinkinhippie.com is currently pointed at 71.198.151.167, I would like plex.stinkinhippie.com to be pointed to 71.198.151.167:32400 etc...How do I do that?On a separate note, I am trying to install DDClient on Ubuntu 15.10 and keep getting an error, this is what I get when I try:sudo apt-get install ddclientReading package lists... DoneBuilding dependency tree Reading state information... DoneThe following NEW packages will be installed: ddclient0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.E: Could not get lock /var/cache/apt/archives/lock - open (11: Resource temporarily unavailable)E: Unable to lock directory /var/cache/apt/archives/Can you help me with this?Once I do get DDClient installed I presume this is the config I should be using:# ddclient configuration for Dynu## /etc/ddclient.confdaemon=60 # Check every 60 seconds.syslog=yes # Log update msgs to syslog.mail=root # Mail all msgs to root.mail-failure=root # Mail failed update msgs to root.pid=/var/run/ddclient.pid # Record PID in file.use=web, web=checkip.dynu.com/, web-skip='IP Address' # Get ip from server.server=api.dynu.com # IP update server.protocol=dyndns2 login=myusername # Your usernamepassword=YOURPASSWORD # Your password or MD5 of passwordMYDOMAIN.com&alias=ALIAS # Update IP address for alias of your domain nameLastly, will DDClient still return the proper IP to your service is the box that is running it is also running OpenVPN?Thanks in adavance for your help.Pete415 385-3595pete@petenoto.comPGP Fingerprint: 353B F7F8 5BEF 4F83 E337 FEFB 404A B41D 705F EBE

1. We have port forwarding feature which will redirect traffic coming to port 80 to a port of your choice. It can be set up in 'Web redirect' section in the control panel. You may refer to https://www.dynu.com/Resources/Tutorials/DynamicDNS/Advancedfeatures/WebRedirect for more information.2. The ddclient install issue seems to have to do with Ubuntu and we are unable to provide support regarding this. You may refer to http://askubuntu.com/search?q=Could+not+get+lock+%2Fvar%2Fcache%2Fapt%2Farchives%2Flock3. The configuration file you provided is correct.4. DDclient will return the public IP address of your network so if the box alone is running OpenVPN,ddclient won't be able to detect that.
