Hello,I am using the dynu client on a windows 10 system. I have used the client application to configure the service settings and after saving the updated settings, I have verified that the dynu service is running on the system and it updates my ip address correctly in your system DNS database. To verify this, I have looked at the updateip log files and see that the update checks are actual updates are working correctly. When I signoff from the dynu client application using the signoff button, I end up having two problems: 1) the dynu client service no longer updates the DNS database when my IP changes, and 2) the client application doesn't actually terminate--it remains running and I can't start the client application without killing the previous client application (using the task manager). After the update failure, I have checked the log files and they indicate the ip update failed due to a credential error. This starts happening immediately after I click the sign off button on the client application. So, it looks like everything works OK if I just close the client application window without signing off. Even in this configuration, I cannot restart the client application w/o killing the previously started application.I have tried restarting the client service engine but this has no effect.Do you have any suggestions as to what to do?Thanks.

I'm just another user, not help and support. As to the first issue, when you're signed out the client no longer has your username and password, so can't pass these parameters to dynu.com.As to the second issue, you can access the client sign-in page by either right-clicking or double clicking the apps icon in the system tray. If you can't see the icon, right-click anywhere in the taskbar, click "Taskbar settings", scroll down to "Notification area" and click "Select which icons appear in the taskbar".Clicking the X at the top-right of the app doesn't unload the app, but simply hides it. You can only unload it via the right-click on the icon.Unfortunately, the service (Dynu.IUC.exe) does not terminate (bad programming) when you exit the app via a right-click on the icon, but doesn't stop you re-starting the app.

I did try these suggestions: I modified the task bar settings to show the desktop client. I then could see the client application that was running. I right clicked on the icon and selected 'Exit' to close the application. This all worked.I checked the log files and it looks like the service is still working without any credential errors. So, all appears well.It does seem like the desktop client software could be fixed so that one doesn't have to go through the task bar modification step to see the application and then terminate the routine. They probably have many users who would appreciate this. Thanks to everyone for your suggestions!
